Balancing life, work, and creative pursuits is a never ending dance. I haven’t made many photos with intentionality in several months which is normal throughout the winter months. Instead I did finally create a photobook from a family vacation in 2024.

No garden for us, I know I would not dedicate the time needed for it, and instead we purchase vegetables from a wonderful organic, women owned farm not too far away. They deliver weekly and last year we moved to their largest weekly share size. It took planning but we ate more vegetables than ever and I’d say our waste was surprisingly little.

That read like someone just stopping in to make a visit!

Felt good to read.

Appreciate it.

I live in a apartment complex and don't really opportunity for a full garden. But, my places faces the back and I have an out-of-the-way spot in the flowerbeds that I plant a couple of tomato plants and some basil. I basically plant and harvest. Otherwise, nature takes its course with sunlight, water and whatever else. As for the balance, since I'm semi-retired now (but still doing some part time consulting and paid photo commissions), you'd think my work/creative balance would be easier. And it is, but there's still days that get away from me and I feel like I've done nothing of merit. Trying to do more fiction writing too, so there's that.

There's just something about spring weather that demands getting outside and getting one's hands in some dirt, even if it is just to loosen the ground around my rose bush and plant a few impatiens in a hanging pot.
