I just got back from a week a great music and found this episode in my e-mail. Cleveland, Va is my hometown. When I lived there it was a nice little town of about 500 folks, 1 bank, 2filling stations and 2 1/2 grocery stores and the "drugstore" /soda shop. My mother's family was part of the founding folk and we knew just about everybody. Now there are fewer than 100 and all of the businesses have closed. It has become part of the Appalachian blight. It's hard for those of us who grew up in the safe happy town it was to return to the shell it has become. The current sad story of Appalachia.
Diet Coke is crack…that coming from someone who has been drinking Coke for the last 50+ years!
Love that cemetery photo so much!!
That photo of the Miller cemetery is so good. I would frame a copy. it's perfection.
