Every time I print an 11x14, I like it. And every time I think...I should have printed 16x20. // Here in NJ, it hasn't been over freezing since I don't know when. But, it hasn't been windy so it really hasn't been too bad, except there's no clean trails to walk my dogs without just tromping through snowcrete. Not fun, unfortunately. I'm in an apartment and we didn't have any issues with stormy. My prep work consisted of having a crock pot of pulled pork going, and making a couple of quarts of potato/sausage soup. :-)
It"s the day after (1/31) and we have about 8 new inches of snow. So far all the modern conveniences are still up and running. We are now in the age group where friends are checking on us. It's a strange transition.
Sounds like a job well done for a non-prepper. I'd be up the ol' proverbial creek, so to speak. Here in NE Tennessee, tonight we're facing what could be our first double digit snowfall total since 2018. Supposed to be the dry, powdery kind. So I don't think we'll have to deal with any power outages and such. Congrats on a year bud. Hope I can say the same thing next January. Keep on keepin' on.
After the last wildfires we had here in N. CA I bought a small generator because of the power losses…We haven’t lost power since…(currently knocking on wood) “Print More & Drink Coffee in 2026” Congratulations on the year of posts Roger. This community here in Substack is great. (Please Substack…don’t mess this up for us)
Back With The Land happened in the early 70’s for this aging hippie, learning quickly lessons come harsh often and ‘prepper’ took years to hit Webster. C’est la vie.
Caring for your neighbor has a rough ride with the attempt of passage -a new bill in WV making a Christian stronghold ..now more about Faith than ever. You can get in trouble if they are “illegal”.
We are neighbors , merit stands tall in the hollers of WV, it will survive silly stories, by the sudden gathering -shovels or tools and quietly get the job done…blessed as the music comes out after with shine , rhyme, and the solid spine.
Your table wholes the grain beautifully adding picture’s grace…carry on neighbor 🫶
This kind of weather is the one thing about West Virginia I don’t miss. I do have fond childhood memories of sleigh riding until I was frozen, and the stillness, the quiet and the beauty of a fresh fallen snow. I love to see pictures of that fresh snow while sitting here in sunny Florida. My mother often said if someone was cold they had thin blood, well my blood must be really thin because here in Florida this morning it’s 44 but on its way to 67 and I’m freezing. 🥶 I, glad you’re on Substack as I look forward to each post and admire your photos.

I like the pragmatic preparation for a storm and the aesthetic compilation of photos back to back. As if one can't be without the other naturally.
Always enjoyable to read your words.
