Good morning from West Virginia! While we’re back from our roadtrip, we carried some of the West home with us.

A couple of quick notes about this edition of the newsletter:

The route home went something like this: Santa Fe, New Mexico to Fort Sumner, New Mexico (Billy The Kid’s Grave) to Lubbock, Texas (Buddy Holly Center) to Wichita Falls, Texas to Archer City, Texas (Larry McMurtry Literary Center) to Texarkana, Texas to Poplar Bluff, Missouri (The Kitchen BBQ & Soul Food) to Cairo, Illinois (Mississippi River) to Elizabethtown, Kentucky to Frankfort, Kentucky (Buffalo Trace Distillery) to Alum Creek, West Virginia.

In total, we traveled 3,851 miles, drove in nine states, experienced 7,000 feet of elevation change, and managed only one minor squabble because we were both exhausted.
