That’s it.
That’s the message of this week’s newsletter.
The world often feels like a dumpster fire. We are inundated with news - most of it bad - all day, every day. I spend more time glued to a screen than I care to admit and while I’m doing that, weeds are taking over my life.
Weeding can be tedious. If you go too long, it can be overwhelming. If you get slack or lazy, they can overrun your garden. They can rob your plants of the water and nutrients they depend on to bear fruit.
I want my life to bear fruit. I want my time, energy, and resources to be invested in bearing fruit not just for me, but for those around me; hell, even for folks I don’t know.
It’s also an admonition to me to remember that it’s easy to point out shortcomings and faults with others when I really need to examine myself first.
So, wherever you find yourself reading this newsletter, think about how you tend your own garden and the fruit you want to bear.
